Our Story
On October 7, 2013, Rev. Dr. Teresa Allissa Citro founded Thread of Hope, Inc. after going through life-altering circumstances that were out of her control. God lifted her out of those circumstances, and the call that He had commissioned her for led to the founding of this non-profit organization.

Thread of Hope, Inc. (TOH) desires to encourage and empower those who are struggling in hopeless situations.
Dr. Citro founded Thread of Hope on the foundation of Zechariah 13:9:
​
"I will bring that group through the fire
and make them pure.
I will refine them like silver
and purify them like gold.
They will call on my name,
and I will answer them.
I will say, ‘These are my people,’
and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”
Sometimes God may allow unfortunate situations to befall upon people. Going through the fire and the testing refines His people. Through these experiences, His people shine forth as silver and gold, prepared to fulfill His plans and purposes for their lives. Great destinies come forth through trials and tribulations.

After nearly a decade, Thread of Hope has gained global recognition and respect. The Lord has provided Thread of Hope with the assets and opportunities to make an extensive impact around the world. We have internationally established an accredited university, a ministerial association, and a non-denominational church.
God has given us a powerful voice on social media through our live talk show, Light of the World, and through the publication of our magazine, Everyday Life.

Through the God-given vision and abilities of the Founder and President, we have created CITRO Company. Through this company, we are enabled to accomplish our mission and vision around the world. All proceeds go 100% to Thread of Hope, Inc.

God creates beauty from the ashes of our brokenness and propels us into an incredible, unimaginable destiny. Remember - It's not over. Never give up. Trust God, and He will raise you up.

We pray that the God of all peace will engrave Zechariah 13:9 on your heart and mind, reminding you that the refining will lead you into fulfilling your great destiny.

Dear Friends and Neighbors:
It is with great honor and privilege to share with you about our non-profit organization. Our desire is to truly make a difference in the world we live in today, by providing free of charge programs and services that meet the needs of people who struggle with cultural and literacy competency, medical disadvantages, and by helping build facilities around the world.
We would like to build relationships with organizations, institutions, and nonprofits, who are already making a difference in the lives of underserved groups in third world countries. We believe that through collaboration and the desire to see all people succeed is what most exemplifies the heart of God. We were created to make a difference and leave this world with a Godly legacy. Thread of Hope, Inc. (TOH) is committed and devoted to being the avenue that will help others grow spiritually, emotionally, and knowledge.
Thread of Hope, Inc. is ready to partner with those who make a difference and to be a voice for those who have no voice, bringing hope to hopeless situations. We are tirelessly working on every continent with prominent partners who are doing amazing work in the fields of education, medicine, and construction.
The dreams, vision, and mission of TOH is to see those whose lives were destroyed due to the trials of life be rebuilt and stand stronger than ever before. It does not stop there! The ability to give others an opportunity for them to reach their God-given talents and gifts will inspire them to be a catalyst for change in the lives of others too. We want to invite you to partner with us as we continue to invest in the lives of others. In this packet, you will find ways in which you can help.
Together, we can make a difference and bring hope into the lives of those who have been hurt and cannot help themselves. Our hands have the power to change the outcomes of people for the better. Together, we can achieve the impossible!

Thread of Hope, Inc. (TOH) is a worldwide organization that strives to enhance and create equal opportunities for all by promoting social awareness and providing the necessary tools and resources for a promising future.
Our Vision
Striving to help underserved people overcome socio-economic and emotional barriers.
Uniting local, foreign, and civic leaders to participate by engaging unreached communities to foster change in poverty-stricken communities.
Creating global awareness toward resilience by preventing ongoing cross-cultural biases and misperceptions.
Cultivating cultural competency in order to eradicate social injustice and prejudices through educational resources, conferences, and innovative media.
​Empowering others by igniting a yearning to accomplish their aspirations regardless of their own environment or past circumstances.
Supporting current projects with existing agencies, non-profits, and institutions (educational, medical, non-government.)
