12 Weeks of Prayer Week 4 Day 7

WHAT IT MEANS TO WALK IN VICTORY

By Justin N. Citro

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful,

and sharper than any two-edged sword,

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,

and of the joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

Hebrews 4:12

As believers, we speak about victory all the time, and as we end this week of devotions speaking of Victory, I am touching on what it means to walk in victory. We have covered all the kinds of victory, but it is now time to talk about walking in victory for walking in victory is not as easy as it seems. There are many things Satan and his demons will throw at you which he has designed to cause the children of God to stumble and fall.

The first point, I would like to make about walking in victory is this: never let yourself get tripped up by things of this world, for there people out there who have been sent by the devil ready to pounce at any opportunity so keep your guard up! The second and last thing you must always keep in mind while walking in total victory is: do not let yourself get ahead, for we, as Christians, must remain humble and constantly make sure we are in right relationship with the Lord for it is He who guides our every step. This is extremely important because man tries to elevate himself to be like God. So, remember stay humble! Now let us see what the Bible says about walking in total victory. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:12 KJV, "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." This verse clearly explains the power we have when we walk in total victory. Also, part of the walking in total victory is using the Word, obeying the commands of God found in the Word as well as applying the Word in every aspect of our lives. My Brothers and Sisters, the Word of God is clear when it comes to walking in victory, but it is our duty that we make sure we live our lives as righteous as possible. Brothers and Sisters, the hope to share with you is this: make sure you are living a life of righteousness and holiness before the Lord. Walk in humility before God, putting away rage and malice for the Lord cannot use someone who is hot-tempered. Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You for Your Word, and I ask You for forgiveness if I have become hotheaded or ill-tempered. Father, I ask You for help to keep me humble and attentive to You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
