12 Weeks of Prayer Week 5 Day 3

12 Weeks of Prayer Week 5 Day 3

STAND UP FOR WHAT GOD CALLS GOOD

By Justin N. Citro

As the people of God, it is our job to stand up for what is good and just in a society where all forms of evil are being accepted. In the book of Exodus, we can see that the ten commandments were given to the nation of Israel, and those commandments were statues as to how to live. However, as we read on, the people of God fell into evil and started to worship the golden calf thus rejecting what the Lord had told them. So, how do we apply this to today. This is the application of what some Christians do: they accept that which the Lord has called evil, and they call what is evil good and good evil. Then the question arises: Why do those who claim to follow God call evil good and good evil? It is because the Lord gives us our own free will, but it is up to us to properly handle this will. The Bible says in Galatians 5:16-17 KJV, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." This passage conveys a simple truth, and that is if we walk in tune with the Spirit and deny ourselves, we will do the things that the Lord wants; but if we don't, we will do the things of the flesh, which is displeasing in the sight of the Lord. This is the situation that we find ourselves in today. The sheep have turned into goats causing all manner of sin to run around in the Church. That is why there must be a separation between good and evil, and as the Word of God says, "Judgment must begin in the Household of God." My Hope I leave you with today, Brothers and Sisters, is this: Be courageous and stand up for what is right and true because that is pleasing to the Lord. He will cause you to be victorious when you are doing what it is that He wants you to do. Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You for this day. Father, I rebuke any form of evil that may try to tear down Your Church. Father, I thank You for giving me a sound mind and for granting me discernment. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
