12 Weeks of Prayer Week 5 Day 7

12 Weeks of Prayer Week 5 Day 7

GOD IS STILL SOVEREIGN

By Justin N. Citro

The separation between good and evil must be properly distinguished for the world as we know it is starting to come apart at the seams due to the evil that is found presently. However, the Bible tells us that evil does not last, and good, in the end, prevails. Let's dive into the victory we have when evil is vanquished. The Lord has been fighting and continues to fight for the safety and well-being of His people, but there have been some instances where the people of God have been used by the devil to bring harm to the people of God. Those kinds of people exist today in a never-ending quest to disrupt the plan of God, but as Christians, we know that nothing can stop the goodness of God! No evil plan of the devil can disrupt the goodness of the Lord for the Lord is sovereign and just even though some Christians have forgotten about this. The Bible says in the book of Romans 11:22 KJV, "Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." This verse explains the sovereignty of Christ as well as the reason we as Christians should practice goodness because we are agents of Christ going out into the world proclaiming His goodness. However, if we don't practice goodness, what does that make us? That makes us hypocrites, and that is all too common in the body of Christ. Instead of being hypocrites, we must start to act like Christ and put on his image if we want to separate from evil. My encouragement to you is to put on the mind of Christ and began to study parts of scripture that talk about being in Christ and not practicing evil for in these last days, we must start being like Christ! Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You. Lord, I come before You asking to be cleaned from the evil I have done. Lord, please help me to become more like You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
