12 Weeks of Prayer Week 8 Day 2

12 Weeks of Prayer Week 8 Day 2

Family Betrayal

By Justin N. Citro

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted,

forgiving one another, even as God

for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Ephesians 4:32

In the last days, the Bible tells us in the gospel of Luke 12:53 that mother will be against daughter and son against father. This betrayal against one another in the family body is common due to the society that is in the world today and how it is teaching people. In some families, they see it as a sport to pit one another against each other in the hopes to see the other fall. Grudges are also a factor as well as jealously that can severely injure the relationship of a family. All this betrayal and hurt toward one another is a sin before the eyes of God. The Lord wants us to love and cherish our family members, not beat them down and destroy them. If there is a situation in your family, surrender it to the Lord, and He will help you. It is sometimes hard to pray for loved ones after they have hurt you, but that is when forgiveness comes into play. We as Christians must forgive those who trespass against us even when it is our own family doing it. The Bible says in the book of Ephesians 4:32 KJV, "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." This verse explains our position as Christians that since Christ died for our sins so that we are forgiven so must we have to forgive those who sin against us. Forgiving someone is challenging for a Christian who has grown cold, and we must always be warm and humble putting on the mind of Christ in every situation. We must always forgive just how Christ forgives us on a daily basis. Beloved, what I encourage you to do today is this: If anyone in your family has sinned against you, forgive them, and pray that the Lord will make them see the truth. Also always be humble, for if you pray in arrogance, the Lord will not hear your prayer. Heavenly Father, I thank You for everything You have done. Lord, I lift up all those who have sinned against me. Forgive them, O Lord, and forgive me if I have sinned against You. I repent. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
