12 Weeks of Prayer Week 8 Day 5

12 Weeks of Prayer Week 8 Day 5

Not All Will Agree With You

By Justin N. Citro

Whom we preach, warning every man,

and teaching every man in all wisdom;

that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Whereunto I also labour,

striving according to his working,

which worketh in me mightily.

Colossians 1:28-29

As we know in this world, there are people betraying us to the left and right. Sometimes, it is family doing the betrayal. Other times, it could be us betraying ourselves. The world is so filled with evil that we don't know between right and wrong anymore, and that is part of the deception and betrayal that is found in the world today. Now sometimes it is not our fault when family members distance themselves away from you. Other times, it is a disagreement between siblings that cause it, but here is the crucial thing that we can take away from all this: were you correct in standing for what you believe in? Standing for truth can and will cause betrayal in families for they do not and will not agree with what you believe. However, it is better to stand firm for the truth than to win the approval of man. Christians today are so caught up in what the world thinks of them that they forgot that God's approval is better than man's approval. Families tend to fight and have disagreements about certain subjects that they think are right, but you know in the eyes of God, it's wrong. Do not be afraid to be betrayed by family for sticking up for the truth. The Bible says in Colossians 1:28-29 KJV, "Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." What these two verses are telling us is whomever we preach to or give warnings to, we do this in Christ standing for truth. The world rejects truth, but we as Christians thrive on the truth of God. If we are standing for Christ, we must prepare ourselves to be thrown away by the world, but what is better -being correct with the Lord or in the eyes of your family? Beloved, make sure that you are standing in truth and in righteousness, standing up for the Truth of God rather than the lies of this world. Again, as always pray for wisdom and the Lord will answer you! Heavenly Father, I thank You and praise You. Father, please help me in standing up for Your truth. I ask You, O Lord, for wisdom and power as I stand for Your Word and what You have taught us in Your Word. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
