26 DOP: VICTORY OVER THE PRINCIPALITIES OF THE DEMONIC DAY 6

26 DOP: VICTORY OVER THE PRINCIPALITIES OF THE DEMONIC DAY 6 Written by Linda A. Knowles

Executive Director of Thread of Hope

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,

against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness,

against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”

Ephesians 6:12

We know flesh and blood are, mostly and usually, symbolic of weakness. However, the unseen rulers are talking of the demonic world, the unseen world of evil, which is a spiritual matter and not one of flesh and blood such as we are. Satan and his angels should never be taken lightly, and though their power is limited as to what they can and cannot do, they are not mere mortal man. They are our adversaries and our opponents, and we should never underestimate them. Satan is the Enemy of our Soul (Mankind's Enemy, Matthew 13:39), and he is called the Serpent of Old (Revelation 12:9). He is also called The god of This World and The god of This Age (John 14:30, 1 John 5:19, 2 Corinthians 4:4), the Day-Star (Isaiah 14:12), the Devil (Matthew 4:1), The Tempter (Matthew 4:3), The Evil One (Matthew 13:19), and the Accuser of the Brethren (Revelation 12:10).

With that being said, we wage war not with the weapons of the world as we know them to be rather we fight in the spirit when we are in prayer, seeking the face of God. We put on the full armor of God and come up against the evil and wickedness in the name of Jesus. We strap on the full armor of God and go battle for our nation and for our leaders in the prayer closet. We battle in prayer by worshiping and praising God. When we come in the name of the Lord, we cannot be defeated because the Lord has gone before us already, and He is our Victory. As we come against the principalities and unseen rulers of this age, we know that through our God we shall do valiantly. Our God has tread down the enemy. The battle belongs to our God, and we take our positions as we stand in the gap in prayer. As we go into prayer, let us remember we are not only coming in the name of Jesus, but He has also covered us in His blood. Jesus defeated Satan on the cross long ago at Calvary, and because of Jesus, we have been made Victors, more than Conquerors, through Him who loved us and who died to set man free. We serve a Risen Savior who reigns on high, and through Him, we have already won the Victory.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You are the Creator of All Things. Lord, we are standing on Your promises as we come before You humbly into Your presence recognizing You as Sovereign, recognizing You as Our Deliverer from the Evil One. You are Our Rock, Our Sure Foundation. In You, we live and move and have our being. "You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In Your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you." There is no one who can stand against You, O Lord, and therefore, we come against the spiritual forces of evil and wickedness plaguing this nation in Jesus' Name. Lord, we recognize that we are powerless without You. Father, though the forces of darkness try to overtake this nation, they cannot succeed against those who are coming in Your name. You have already raised up a standard against the enemy of our soul and his demons. You are the One who has already executed judgment on all those who do evil. Father In Heaven, You are majestic and arrayed in splendor, and we give You all the glory and honor. All praise be unto You, Our Eternal God. May You be praised now and forever more. Thank You. Thank You for Your Mercy and Grace. Thank You for being the Lord of Glory. Thank You for being the Unchanging God in an ever-changing world. Glory to Your Holy and Matchless Name, Lord Jesus. Amen.
