7 DOP: Victory Over the Disrespect and Dishonor of Authority Day 25

VICTORY OVER THE DISRESPECT

AND DISHONOR OF AUTHORITY

7 Days of Prayer Day 25

Written By Linda A. Knowles

“You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged,

and you shall revere your God; I am the Lord.”

Leviticus 19:32

We know God has put authority in place to keep law and order in the places we live in. Our police have been under attack with outcries to disband the police in various cities throughout the USA. Our God has ordained the authority of the land to keep order in every city, in every state. When one is a good and responsible citizen, there is no reason to fear authority. When one is a good and responsible citizen, you understand that it is necessary to honor those whom God has put in place to keep order and provide safety according to the law so that everyone is safe. Authority of the land, like God, is not out to destroy your fun. First and foremost, authority will enforce the laws of the land and do their job, and then they are there to protect the citizens where they reside.

Authority is not just limited to the police, fire fighters, government officials, and the like. Our elderly are disrespected and dishonored every day as well. Nowadays, we see people won't even give up a seat to an elderly person who is holding onto the rail in a bus or a train. The elderly are treated like dirt in our society as if they are something to be trampled on. Grandfathers and grandmothers, elderly aunts and uncles, elderly relatives, or the elderly who are out and about taking walks or riding some mode of transportation. They are treated with disdain and their words dismissed with a what-do-you-know attitude.

We are to give honor and respect to whom honor and respect is do, and we are claiming victory over the disrespect and dishonor shown not just to the authority of the land but also the disrespect and dishonor of parental authority and those who are elderly and the like.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are our authority, and we give You all the honor and praise that is due to you. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Abba, You are our Father in Heaven, and You rule and reign in our hearts. We know that where there is no respect and honor for You, there will be no honor and respect for any authority. First, we ask that You revive the souls of the people in our country. Second, we ask that there would be an awakening throughout the land as to who You are and Your sovereignty. We are asking You to bring about the honor and respect for authority in this land that has been lost. Be with each and every person in authority that is a 911 rescue worker and that is an authority in government and pour out Your wisdom upon them as they deal with issues that come across their desks everyday. Surround them with a hedge of protection as You have ordained them for the position of authority they are in. For all the parents out there, Lord, grant them the strength they need to teach and model honor and respect for authority to their children. Grant every parent what they need in order to raise their children to show honor and to be honorable. Those who wish to destroy parental authority, we come against them in the name of Jesus. Lord, flood this nation with a move of Your Holy Spirit that is so undeniable in which only You can receive all the glory. Restore the honor and respect that has been lost. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
