8 Days of Prayer Day 24

Written By Eddie Masih

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 10:10

Dear Friends, everyone in this world is surrounded with responsibilities and duties. As a husband, you have responsibilities towards your wife, and as a wife, you have responsibilities towards your husband; together, as parents you have responsibilities towards your children. The one who is unfaithful, lazy and careless in fulfilling his or her duties is considered incapable. After the fall, the devil and his army had the assignments to steal, kill and to destroy. This is the only work they have. As believers, we that Jesus came and appeared to destroy the works of the devil, and because of Jesus, we are made overcomers who are able to come against and demolish the works of the devil in His name and in the strength He gives us (1 John 3:8, Romans 8: 37).

1 John 3:8 says “The devil sinneth from the beginning.” He went to Eve and engaged her in talks and deceived her. He made her to break the commandment of God, which was, not to eat the fruit of the tree of good and evil. The Bible tells us Eve ate and also gave it to her husband. The moment they broke the commandment of God, they were separated from Him. This way the devil stole the life of God from Adam and Eve. They saw that they were naked and hid themselves behind the trees. The Father came in search of them but they were running away from Him, because the devil had killed their relationship. The Lord had to pronounce curse over them because he had said, “If you eat the fruit of the tree of good and evil you will surely die.” As a result, the reason why The Lord made them was destroyed, all the plans were destroyed, and the life of God in them was destroyed.

Dear Precious People, the devil is working overtime to accomplish his tasks of stealing, killing and destroying. Is the church working as hard as the devil? Please don’t misunderstand me. I am not glorifying the devil here but trying to remind the church that we have the greater power, greater authority, and the greater God with us. All we need to do is to be zealous, hungry and faithful in exercising our powers and authority we have received from God. “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you,” (Luke 10:19). We are walking in Victory because we have received abundant life from our lovely Jesus.

The devil is playing games with the minds of people in this time of election. But the prayers of the righteous availeth much and we believe we shall also see him falling like lightening as Jesus saw him falling. We shall have victory over the spirits of destruction and wickedness.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for You sent Your only son Jesus to crush the head of the devil. Through Him, we have victory over all the powers of the darkness. Thank You for the angelic armies that are fighting against the spirits of the destruction and wickedness. I pray that You will protect Your son and will make him victorious. You will help him in regaining his position as the President, and through him, the name of Jesus shall be proclaimed over all the nations of the earth. We thank You, and we love You. In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
