DON'T BE AFRAID

"Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged,
for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9
The Lord told the Israelites to not be afraid as they went to claim the Promised Land. God had caused them to wander in the wilderness for the previous forty years due to their disbelief, unwillingness, and fear of not being able to claim the land. When the unwilling generation had died off, the Lord appointed Joshua to lead His people into the Promised Land. During that time, He told them that, just as He had done with Moses, He would never leave them nor forsake them.
In modern times, the Word that the Lord gave them still applies to us.
Through His Word, God tells all generations to be courageous, for He will always be with them. Because the Lord goes before us and stands behind us, what reason do we have to be afraid? When the Father of all the universe Himself protects us, what is there to fear?
