God’s Attributes!
1. His greatness
2. His majesty
3. His mercy
4. His goodness
5. His holiness
These are God’s attributes. Therefore, we reference HIM. Our mind cannot comprehend his greatness, his majesty, his mercy, his goodness, and his holiness. We can only understand in part; "Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely," 1 Corinthians 13:12.
What then shall we do? We don’t excuse, condone, or hide sins in us or others. We must make this determination so that we are not led astray by other’s actions, behaviors, and ungodly ways. If they cannot respect our moral compass, we let them go. It simply means they cannot go where God is taking us. Respect for God is our only pursuit. We must determine in our heart, mind, and soul to do what is right before his eyes. It doesn't matter what others have to say. We are to please God and not man. We must remember that we stand alone on judgment day.
Forget and leave behind anyone who will cause you to sin. People who love God will push you more into righteousness and holiness; they will NOT prevent you from honoring God. Jesus himself said, "But He answered and said to the one who told Him, 'Who is My mother and who are My brothers?' And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, 'Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.'”
"For whoever does the will of My Father..." The will of the Father is complete obedience and surrender to a life of holiness, without sinning and condoning that which God says is sin. So, then, is there anything more to say? NO, there isn’t! Following GOD, and living a life committed to him is the greatest life that could be lived.
Let’s look again at his attributes. He will show himself great on your behalf. He will showcase his majesty over your life. He will show his mercy and goodness to you, and when you come to him, he will show his holiness. Moses had to have a face covering after meeting with God. The faces of his children showcase the same attributes. No human being can show you these attributes. Only HE can show you the attributes I mentioned above, and HE will show you much more.
“As for me, I have set my face like flint, I will not be moved or shaken.” I will obey every single word God tells me to do. It has nothing to do with disrespecting or not loving others. It means I love GOD more than anyone else, including the woman who birthed me. I understand only GOD has given me life. And we all know how much I love my mom. However, I love GOD much more.
Keep this in your mind today. Don’t be deceived by people who live their lives in sin and then try to get you to join their evil behaviors. Stand out! Say, “NO, I will not participate in your lies, manipulations, and evil sinful ways." Then, let GOD deal with them. You are only required to do that which is right and just before HIS eyes. You are responsible for YOU only!
